Product Description
DISCOVER THE KEY TO YOUR CHILD'S EDUCATION AND FUTURE.

Your child's leaning style is as individual as his or her fingerprints. And the better you understand that style (a combination of aptitudes, strengths, and weaknesses), the more you can help your child have successful leaning experiences and encourage his teachers to do the same.

Unlocking Your Child's Learning Potential will help you discover your child's learning and intelligence strengths, find out how to capitalize on those strengths, and understand how your own style affects your approach to your child's learning. A surprising number of students in any classroom have a learning style different from that of their parents or teacher, writes Cheri Fuller. But that in no way means that your "learning different" child is "learning disabled."

The fact is, learning different students-such as Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Eleanor Roosevelt, and others-are often among the most intelligent and gifted in the class. But those gifts can go unrecognized for years if the curriculum is taught in such a way that your child finds it difficult to learn. The practical suggestions and creative study strategies in Unlocking Your Child's Learning Potential will help you, your child, and your child's teachers make school appeal to your child's unique way of processing information and give her the tools she needs for a lifetime of successful learning.

"This is a wonderful resource for parents who have children facing challenges in learning. The overall focus is on empowering children by celebrating their strengths and helping them develop strategies to assist with their education both at home and at school. A refreshing, positive look at learning!"-Regina H. Sapona, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Coordinator, Special Education Program, University of Cincinnati

"Unlocking Your Child's Learning Potential is an excellent manual for parent education programs and offers teachers numerous ideas for success in the classroom. It gives parents hope that their children can learn and, as a result, become successful at school and develop a healthy self-esteem."-Jerri Bell, teacher, SFA Middle School, Bryan, Texas

"Years of guilt over not being a 'good enough' mother to my three kids disappeared when I read this book. Thank you, Cheri, for encouraging me to accept my own leaning styles and become aware of and excited about each child's unique path!"-Diane Palmisano, parent, Edmond, Oklahoma

This book is a must for every parent. Fuller's very first chapter on different learning styles helped me understand why my two daughters studied so differently. Why one needed to write her vocabulary words and why the other needed to hear them play back on a tape recorder. Once I identified my kids learning styles, I was able to use the tips in this book to help them study and we've seen a marked increase in grades and in their confidence in tackling difficult projects. This is a book I'll keep on my bookshelf and use as a reference for years to come.

I read this book 10 years ago, and I was able to help my stepson learn more his way. I found out why he "had" to touch everything in sight....His grades improved 100% using ideas I learned in this book. I have also used this book in understanding adult learning behavior. Good read, am buying it again just to have for reference, as I loan out my other copy, and never got it back!

This book is good for anybody and everybody to read.Anyone who is still learning(which is all of us)can benefit from knowing his or her learning style.Finding out that I am a visual learner certainly explained a lot, but it has also helped me to learn ways that I can better remember and learn new material.Cheri Fuller's book is worth reading.
